Defrosting
The defrosting technique is one applying an air-conditioning unit for circulation of electrically (or other media) heated air alternatively chilled air via a cooling coil.
The defrosting process is carried out in carefully controlled temperature and time intervals with stages adapted to the individual requirements of the respective product being processed and the required temperature after thawing.
The insulated cabinet is utilizing the latest technologies, the so-called sandwich construction.
High-performance foam connects the inner stainless steel skin with the outer skin, which is also made of stainless steel. This construction is much ridged and allows later repair or replacement of panels in the event of accidental damage.

SPECIAL ADVANTAGES
An automatically operated defrosting process
Foodco’s outstanding defrosting process is based on perfectly controlled temperature and time intervals for different process requirements. Thawing can cost a lot of money and causes problems with both quality and hygiene. Most of those who have tried it knows how fast you can encounter weight and water loss.
Foodco’s thawing system guarantees no loss of weight when thawing from – 25° C to -2° C for instance.
Air Circulation
Around the product, the air is forced to reach the most optimal temperature for thawing. The air can be mixed with water and compressed air to create the most optimal foggy climate.
Each unit contains one fan, two trolleys, and air circulation of 15.000 m3/h, as a minimum. The fans run with a frequency control system and can be operated at different speeds, according to different situations. The fans can be reversed during airflow according to adjustment and programming.
Temperature Sensors
The first out of three sensors, the surface sensor, is placed close to the surface of the frozen product, in the centre of the trolley. This sensor regulates the temperature of the air during the thawing process, enabling the temperature of the cargo to detain the perfect temperature.
The second sensor is placed in the core of the product, this sensor controls the final phase of thawing. And the third sensor is placed where the returning air to the fan passes.
The units
The unit is equipped with a ventilating ceiling, which allows for optimal air circulation throughout the process with products in the cabin, together with an electrically operated door. The door’s motor is complete with integrated protection, fully controlled with circuit board accommodated in a separate control box with raising, lowering and stop functions.
The optimal thawing is achieved by several steps in heating. These steps are depending on the product and wanted end-result. The total heat load is calculated in each specific situation and defrosting installation.
Microprocessor
The microprocessor displays the temperature of the sensor in control while indicating which sensor it’s controlling. The sensors are placed in the outgoing and returning chain, as well as in the evaporator section to best control the box and cargo temperature.
Correct loading of the cargo is a prerequisite for effective quick thawing.
During the process, large quantities of the air have carefully circulated the products, at the same time, the appropriate temperature is maintained throughout the process.
